Droodgari shape and proportions of wooden doors and windows of historical buildings of eastern Iran

Abstract

Windows and doors are used as jambs in Iranian architecture,as well as two,three,five,and seven doors,which have specific concepts in terms of size and dimensions,and depending on the type of building,they carry a lot of decorations,of which frames are one of the most important.The purpose is to explain the structure of Carpentry and proportions of doors and windows of historical buildings in eastern Iran,and the question,what is the structure and proportions of doors and windows of historical buildings in eastern Iran?The research method is practical in terms of its purpose and descriptive and analytical in terms of its nature,the collection of library and especially field information and sampling is purposeful with comparison capability.The results can be presented in three discussions.1-types of form and design,2-design and fit,and 3-decoration.In the first discussion,the forms are crescent,semi crescent,rectangular,altar,square,circle,and the number of Sheet is two,three,four,five,six,and the rectangular,square,octagonal,hexagonal,Polish,octagonal frame design,and the number of frames is numerous.that the main shape is determining the location of the door and window according to the interior space of the building,the amount of light entering the building as well as the value of the spaces of the building and causes order and prevents visual uniformity.The second discussion is the basis of the construction of doors and windows and openings,wind flow and optimal use of natural light,which has determined the dimensions and sizes.The technique of making alt and laqt,and all the doors and windows are designed and implemented based on the golden proportions of two,three,four and finally five squares(half square and full square)and a difference between one,two,three,five,seven No door has been observed and they all follow the same pattern.In the third discussion,decorations are divided into three categories:wood,metal and colored glass.And according to the type of place and space used in the building,it follows a specific pattern and aesthetics and the principles of geometry and proportions in design and execution,and they are all representative of Islamic art.
